This little article tells so much truth and so many of us fail to understand how much truth there is in it. Since the author has retired from writing for newspapers and just does editorials I had to use a blog for the story. Please take note of the blog and what it is. Also know that I could have presented the same story from Ron Paul's blog, or the RepublicansforObama blog also. Maybe over 50,000 blogs with the same story make it truer than many want it to be. Too much truth and too many people just don't see how we can control our government from the polls.
Isn't Congress supposed to represent U.S. citizens?
And then to always act to protect its Citizens' rights and liberties?
Well yes, that is the way it is supposed to be. Why don't you try reading the article that I took from Obama's blog and see just what is wrong with the way we are doing things.
Surely if you had read it you would know that Congress has a much better retirement system than Social Security and it only takes about a year of service to get it.
Read the article, and maybe you will see some things you don't often think about but surely know about.
I don't think I'd pay any attention to anyone who wasn't observant enough to realize that Congress pays into Social Security just like (almost) everyone else. That's a pretty basic fact to be messing up if you're setting yourself up to be some actual critic of government...

That's 545 who WANT to govern the rest of us. As representatives they should be administering the function of the government, not applying government to the lives of the people.
There's plenty of other representation among the 57 states to take care of the rest.

Sure they do. Maybe you could provide a link to some official site where this fancy shmancy Congressional pension system of yours is actually described??? I'll be waiting...

Do you recognize the absurdity of what you are writing?
To rephrase for clarity:
The representatives of the government want to govern, but instead of the government trying to govern the people they should be governing the government????
My friend, what is the main function of any government? I would suggest it is the governments primary job to govern the behavior of the governed.
I read it. I even read it beyond the point where his inept Congress and Social Security remark made it obvious that there was little point in doing so. How big a government do you think we should have if the supposed 545 is too small? Want to multiply it say by ten? Would that help?
Come up with a link to that fancy shmancy retirement system of yours yet?
