Next time Bill gates wonders why less and less people are intrested in a career in computers and stands in front of our government asking for more foreign workers, we should have this plastered on his forehead!

But hasn't Dubya already assured us that this sort of thing is good for our economy?
There are many Arguments for and against the Sell out of jobs.
Some Corporate and Goverment Financed Think Tanks attest When an American job is outsourced to a Foreign country two or more American Jobs are recreated in this country. However there is something these Corporation and Government Financed Think Tanks fail to point out. They will not confess to the fact these newly recreated American jobs pay much less than the jobs that have been previously outsourced. Since 1965 A Conspiracy between Corporations and Big government deliberately busted Unions in a successful attempt to cut the wage of the American Worker. The Government accompished the wage cutting task by propagandizing American people with left-wing Half truths and fanatical lies like Racial discrimation, Slavery, segreagation and the like. Furthermore American workers after 1965 were doped up by the Pharmaceutical industry through advertizing and its' financing of Hollywood movies in a way to make drugs cool and an acceptable part of the American culture. The American worker is finally realizing the effects of this Job-wage sell out because they no longer have the money to buy their drug fixes!

Circuit city is admittingly firing current employees to simply replace them with lower paid people. And what type of plan would be complete without outsourcing IT,(remember the big field that replaced manufactoring that has nothing to "replace" it) And companies wonder why there is no loyalty...
Fifteen years ago, I could buy a pair of Levi's Jeans for $60. Now I can buy them for $25. Why? Because they quit paying Jane and Joe Sixpack $15/hour to make them in Texas, or North Carolina, or wherever. Now Juan and Juanita Sixpack from Costa Rica are being paid $4/hour to make them.
So while I feel sorry for Joe and Jane Sixpack, the big picture is that every American now can get his/her blue jeans for less than 50% of what they used to cost. Plus, Juan and Juanita can now better afford to buy American-made pharmaceuticals, toothpaste, or whatever. Or with this new tax revenue, the city of San Juan can afford to hire American engineers to design new roadways and infrastructure for their city. The point is, outsourcing can be mutually beneficial for both countries involved.

But Joe and Jane's earning power has also gone down to compensate. Sure, the cost of manufacturing has gone down in many sectors. But when good-paying jobs with benefits for our own people are becoming fewer and farther between every year, I fail to see the benefit. A low cost of living is good, sure. But a high quality of life is better. We're sacrificing the latter to gain the former. Good for you that you can now buy 6 pairs of socks at Wal-mart for $5. That way when you can't afford to buy your own home, send your kids to college, and have no health insurance, at least your feet will be warm.
And if you couldn't find jeans for less than $60 fifteen years ago, you weren't looking very hard.
The problem with the direction we're headed is that the gap between skilled and (low)unskilled labor is increasing. Doctors/lawyers/etc will always make their money. You can't outsource that type of work. But the pay of factory laborers has dropped, relatively speaking. The problem with this is that not all US citizens are capable of being doctors. The relative intelligence of our country has not changed. There will always be Americans who are best suited as factory laborers.
The income gap between skilled and unskilled labor will continue to increase (which is a bad thing), or there will eventually be no more factory labor jobs in the US. That's where we're headed. We simply cannot support a policy which is detrimental to such a large portion of our population. We can't force everyone to get higher education. Some people just are not capable of that. Are we eventually going to kick everyone with an IQ under 100 out of the country?
