This is why people don't trust cops.

I know when I lived in Denver there was one that provided false evidence against people, one resulting in a no knock raid where the guy had a gun to defend himself. The raiding cops shot and killed him. The liar never served a day in jail, and was only fired. All the other people he provided false evidence against are still in jail.

What they need to do is protect the cops from the people who are making things up, and go after the ones that pull this crap.

After being arrested and booked on a charge of auto theft (the car belongs to her parents, and she was a passenger, not the driver), the teenager displayed a "lippy" disposition toward Schene and another officer. As the door to her cell was being closed, she was ordered to remove her shoes. She complied by kicking one of them in Schene's direction.
Perhaps Schene is well-versed in Arab culture, or watched the Bush shoe affair and perceived this to be a grave insult to his masculinity, such as it is. In any case, he charged into the cell, kicked her in the stomach, slammed the girl's head against the wall, threw the girl face-first to the floor, and -- with the assistance of his fellow tax-feeder -- handcuffed her while striking her twice to the back to the head.
In his official report, Schene did what police almost always do in such circumstances: He lied, in the serene (albeit misplaced) confidence that nobody would review the video from the holding cell, or at least take it seriously.
Schene claimed that the girl "provided resistance and failure to comply with instructions"; in fact, it was her compliance with instructions that precipitated the beating. The deputy wrote that his response was merely to "place" her in handcuffs, while omitting mention of kicking her in the stomach, beating her head against the wall, hitting her twice while she was prone and pinned down by two men twice her size, and then dragging her out by her hair.
He also reported that the shoe hurled by the detainee injured him so severely that he -- fragile, delicate creature that he is -- had to be treated at a nearby hospital. If that injury occurred, it was entirely self-inflicted: The video shows him banging his shin against the toilet as he attacked the terrified girl.

Welcome to the domestic terror state people, hopefully her father can have a word with him in a dark alley.
After daily incidents like this, thank god for cell phones, I wonder why cops still don't get why people like myself view them as government tax thugs

Lippy or not, this officer had no right letting his rage get the best of him. He should be fired and made an example of. This is exactly why some people don't trust police.

Thats what happens when you let any Joe Shmoe w/ 6 weeks of training and a chip on his shoulder become a cop.

Beating caught on police video

Serves two purposes.

First, those cops will never again to that- whether or not they remain policeman.

Second, that brat isn't going to mouth off like that to police again.

See, it's a win-win situation.

After viewing the tape, basing my opinion on the body language of the girl and being the father of a similarly aged teenage daughter, it doesn't look to me that she kicked the shoe at the office with anything other than an act of petulance. Her arms are crossed her foot didn't come anywhere high enough to indicate to me that she intended in anyway to hurt or even hit the cop. It looked like she was just taking off her shoe in a brattish manner. I wonder if he was ordering her to remove her shoes at the time.

Before answering whether this is justified, imagine if this was your daughter.....
