Unfortunately I think we're now firmly embedded between a rock and a hard place. Doesn't seem we can very well walk away from a mess we created but in reality, what are we likely to gain?
I have yet to see a reasonable explanation of what would actually constitute victory?
Or why creating a democracy that may very well elect an anti-American government is a good thing?

I hope we can do a little better than that. I think they need to assign a full-time detail to continuously kick Maliki in the butt and get his people fighting for themselves.
We should start pulling them out now and face the fact that we lost.
Of course we want the fighting to end, but would you rather Here or there? Pulling out now and "facing the fact that we lost"...we'll lose alot more than if we stay.
The troops should be pulled out NOW!!. We had no business going there and we have no business being there now. Furthermore, those responsible for this horrific mess should be held accountable. Iraq is experiencing a civil war, or a religious war if you prefer. Our prescence there will only result in more and continued blood shed. Every day we are there, the world becomes a little less safer and America becomes a little less respected.

That's a tough one. At this point, in my opinion, we would do more harm then good to pull out. The Iraqi's have now started to step up to the plate. Not as fast as some of our legislatures would prefer, but they are starting to step forward and do the right thing. If we were to suddenly pull out, they would be overthrown in days. Matter of fact, we can't even reduce the number of troups until we get to a point that portions of their Army can take over sections that our soldiers are currently holding. But that's going to take time.
As for "When to we win? When do we loose?" I would say, to win we have to have their Army capable of dealing with the trouble and in sufficient numbers to maintain that strength. That would be a win. If we pulled out and what we worked so hard to gain colapses. That's a loss.
Like mentioned. We're between a rock and a hard place. But I disagree with one statement and that is we didn't cause it. It started in 1990-91. Our biggest problem is, we didn't finish it then. We pulled out and walked away. We should have left some military there to ensure compliance with their surrender terms.

Right now, we are saving "the enemy" travel expenses.
Iraq is almost like a training ground for them.
