Since elections are not the job of the Courts, I did object. They should have recounted, and recounted, and recounted..........

Mr. Bush was not a "minority".

The Constitution leaves elections as a state matter. The principal problem with Bush v Gore was the length to which the majority went to find a federal issue to begin with. In such matters the Court would normally show considerable deference to the state courts, but in that case, it chose simply to steamroller them.

I will be honest with you, I really don't know why it bugs me. It doesn't bother me that you are gay, it doesn't really bother me that you want to have the same rights as I do and chose to have a partner for life. But for some reason the words gay marriage bugs me. It is not rational, and I have no explanation for it, just like I have no explanation of why I fear ants, it is just the way I'm wired I guess.

In the end I think the laws will change and pretty much any human will be allowed to marry any other human. (Except family, that is just common sense as well as major eewww factor). I will learn to live with it I suppose.
