Maybe you are misunderstanding what I'm saying. I am NOT advocating no punishment for people who have murdered other human beings. I'm not saying they don't deserve death. What I'm saying is that within our justice system we cannot be CERTAIN that every person convicted of first degree murder really was guilty of that crime, therefore, there is the reality that we do and will execute innocent people in order to kill the really guilty ones. Is it really worth it to our society to feel the righteousness that may come with the execution of those people who really did commit horrendous murders to make a mistake and kill ANOTHER INNOCENT PERSON because of them? Are those murderers' lives worth another innocent life being taken in order to kill them?
see, I see no difference between 1st and 2nd degree murder. there is a difference between murder and manslaughter, but not murder.

both 1st and 2nd degree murder should get the death penalty.

also, since abortion is legal, how can states and citizens say that abortion is legal, but the killing of an unborn child through a criminal offense to be illegal?

it is either 1 way or the other, not both.

Well, that is an interesting point. I hadn't thought about the laws in some states that can charge a person with murder of two people if they murder a pregnant woman. At first thought, I agree; that seems inconsistent!

Arizona is a state which will charge 2 murders for the death of a Pregnant Female and the death of her unborn child.

I believe there are some 20+ States that have similar laws
