Seeing the latent racism on the part of the GLBT community shows exactly how most upper-class liberal whites feel about minorites. They love them when they serve to advance the cause of socialism yet deep down want them to stay poor and a perpetual underclass.

I am telling you now, those who voted Obama are going to be deeply disappointed. He's not for Black improvement, he's for a prepetual underclass.

Obama is the USA's biggest success and biggest failure at the same time.

There is not truth here, just some angry right wingnut still venting. Did you hear this on hate radio, or in some anonymous email you received?

Right-wingers in denial. They can't process the fact that they have lost everything they thought they had won. Merely because all of their heroes and ideals led us only into crash-and-burn scenarios. Thus the frenzied backlash over efforts to overturn Prop-8. What are there, two dozen anti-gay threads running on Page-1? Right-wingers desperately trying to cling to some last shred of control, but alas. Even that will be denied to them as they slip off into a decade or more of well deserved exile and irrelevancy...

Agreed! Liberals are very hypocritical.

I think some racism did come out after the media played up the whole "black vote" thing. However, I don't believe for a moment that the GLBTQ community as an entity is racist (and not to mention the black members you're ignoring). Please don't blame it on the whole community. This shows us something we should have known already--there are a lot of supposedly liberal white people out there who are racist. Malcolm called them "foxy liberals"--those liberals who like to make everyone think they're progressive, but they're just paying lip service to the black community and don't intend to do anything helpful. He trusted conservatives more because they could at least admit that they weren't going to help black people at all--they weren't being sly but openly racist. We're seeing some "foxy liberals," I think. And yet they're becoming more like the conservatives of Malcom's time. But this is not a GLBTQ problem, this is a problem in our culture that has gotten better since the 60s, I'd say, but still hasn't gone away.
