He is going to be the next President and we need to stand by him at all times.

Does this include the good and honest men who had the courage to stand by their convictions to refuse to go to war in distant lands when their own country is not in peril from without, and there is so little to be accomplished by such a war but death and destruction to innocent lives?

They were ok with going to war before they weren't and needed something to swing the country against Bush given the '04 election around the corner.
I don't usuallly wish cruel things on people, but I hope Bush lives a long life and retains his lucidity and can watch for many decades as the world and the nation play out according to the course he has set, and have time to reflect on the day he will meet his Maker..

Fact is that Obamess is being cast by the same MSM (that threw Bush under the bus) as some "messiah". What do YOU or anyone else who voted for Obamess know about what he did for Acorn? What do you know about Obamess at all? Other than his mom was white and his dad was black and somehow Obamess had no money yet went to Harvard and pulled in a cool 4.3 million last year? He's a lawyer. Trained to sway people with double-speak and the like. All the lawyers get elected b/c they can speak a good game. Proof will be in the pudding and Obamess is mixing his up with skim.

How about stating a few facts as to Obama's experience and what he's done to prove worthy of even running let alone being elected?
How about clearing him of his association with Acorn and the connection to the housing debacle? Can you do that with FACTS? You can't. The MSM ignored it...so you'd have no clue.

Certainly many have mistaken the mouthing of prefab right-wing rant and propaganda for independent thinking over the years. Simply dipping your cup into the well of the right-wing disinformation media is so much easier than finding and connecting all the dots on your own. There is a price to be paid for such convenience, however. It is a steep price. People aren't so willing to pay it anymore, and who can blame them? Look around at what it has brought them. A landscape of disgrace and failure as far as the eye can see. Failure. An abject, smarmy, and persistent eight years worth of failure by the Republicans. That's what elected Barack Obama.

I'm afraid you're merely trying to downplay the moment. It is significant that a non-white can win. Not just barely, but convincingly. In a rout. The effect of that upon society will be significant and enduring, but time to relish the moment will pass. Eight years of Republican rule have devastated the nation. It's turned out much worse than what we had feared or thought possible. Obama's job will be to try to stop the bleeding. Any more that he can accomplish will be gravy.
As for the media, in stark contrast to their treatment of Bill Clinton, the MSM have given Bush a free ride. Right from the Fall of 1999, when he said he wasn't going to discuss his cocaine use, and the media said "Oh, okay." Protect profits by cutting actual journalism. Just pick up the White House press release and write a story about that. Have a nice lunch with an "insider", then take his leaked administration talking point and publish it as if it were a scoop. Oh, and make sure none of that "liberal bias" (aka, actual fact) gets in there. Face it. The media wimps have been in Bush's hip pocket. There hasn't been a bus in sight.

Ah, ACORN. The failed swift-boat issue of 2008. Turns out that most Americans are actually in favor of what people like ACORN do. They believe that banks should be sued when they deliberately discriminate against low- and moderate-income people. They aren't surprised when political campaigns hire such groups to do turn-out-the-vote work in close elections. And they certainly don't find it unpatriotic to conduct voter registration drives. Write a best-selling book or two and see how your tax returns look. For the Obama's, 2007 went this way...Salaried income: $260,735 Net profit from books: $3,943,378. Since you aren't anywhere near as bright or interesting or insightful as Obama, I don't think you could pull such a thing off, but go ahead and give it your best shot. Could help to pay off your student loans, assuming that you have any.
