Can you give us a summary of the video, or link us to a transcript? Not sure I have 1.5 hours to watch but it does sound interesting. First I was wary, Peterson seems like just another out-of-touch intellectual academic, Canadian at that, but I see his quote in a blog - "Pro-Hamas protesters are sanctimonious psychopaths", which I could not agree more with.
John Spencer is a renowned urban warfare specialist so I really want to hear from him to dispel all this "genocide" nonsense.
it was a good listen. Just had it playing in the background while working. JP sorta kept back and let his guest do most of the talking. And he had some really enlightening things to say about it all.
I think most of us knew already that Hamas didn't really think they were gonna 'win'. And this is all for political theater to weaken support for Israel. Maybe they were hoping a weak America, riddled with Islamist ideology, would remove support thereby de-fanging Israel.

From the maps left behind by those who didn't make it back to Gaza, it appears the plan was to get the so called Palestinians in the West Bank to join in (I have heard, some of them did), and to get Hezbollah to attack at the same time, to hopefully over run the whole country. But, not only did Hezbollah not launch at the same time, they didn't expect so many Israeli citizens to stand against them, even though it was suicidal.
By the time he gets to 25 min even though he doesn't say it, it is obvious that an armed civilian population is extremely important to national defense (especially with small countries)..

I agree. Furthermore, Israel should join hand with Ukraine to fight Hamas and Russian terrorists. Hamas terrorists in Syria are trained and armed by the Russians. This is why it is difficult for Israel to fight Hamas terrorists alone.

In my book (booklet), I give a broad outline of all the different fronts in the "one war" we are fighting, against and Axis of Evil. I wrote it because many people think we are involved in fights with about six or seven different entities, when really, it is all orchestrated towards our demise.
I agree. Same thing is happening in Ukraine: Russian invaders are destroying Ukraine and Ukrainians are fighting back. I support both Israel and Ukraine in their fight against terrorism against their countries.
I don’t think it’s so clear cut. The argument can be made that Palestine is analogous to Ukraine and Israel is Russia.
After all the conflict didn’t begin on Oct 7th.
Israelis claiming they are the true natives of the land is like Russians claiming they are the true natives of Donbas, as well as laying claim that they are the successor state of Kievan Rus.
Palestinians are the people who have been living on the land for the past 2 thousand years who went through periods of greekification and arabization. Just like Ukrainians have been living on their lands for the past thousand years despite not having their own state until relatively recently.
Palestinian attacks on Israel can be viewed like Ukraine bombing Russian cities like Belgorod.
Palestinians do not want to compromise and concede land just like Ukraine doesn’t want to compromise and concede land.
Gaza has been flattened to the ground just like Mariupol and Bakhmut have been flattened to the ground.
Palestinians claim that genocide is being committed against them just like Ukrainians do.
Israelis accuse Palestinians of being terrorists just like Russians accuse Ukrainians of being fascists/Nazies.
But ultimately these are two different conflicts/wars and parallels can be me either way depending on who you are more sympathetic more with. Also don’t get me wrong, I do think Israel has the right to exist and defend their borders, but that doesn’t give them the right to wipe out the Palestinian nation and expand their borders further into Palestinian Territories via occupation and settlements.

Arabs have been trying to drive out Jewish settlers for 100 years, starting with the Hebron Massacre. Then they tried again with the 1947 War.
