The US needs to give Ukraine more money and the latest tech because aren't we all getting tired of waiting for a nuclear war? Let's just get on with it.
Why would you be giving all this to some backward state 12 000 miles away from your home, behind an ocean, not having any borderline with your country and, not having any apparent benefit to your country and you, if you do that?
WHY? For some chimeric "protect democracy" idea? In some la la land far far away, corrupt like 4th century Chinese buearocrat? Where it does not even smell of democracy and freedom? Don't you have your own country issues to address first?

Because America used to get involved when an injustice was being done to a nation, doesn't matter how corrupt it is or whether or not it's a democracy. We used to be the world's police. Look at Serbia, Kosovo, B&H, Rwanda, Somalia, etc. Were there any direct benefits in helping them out? Also Saddam Hussein wasn't a direct threat to the US but we felt the need to send our troops there for a regime change and weapons of mass destruction.

If you even read one post of mine you could see that what I wrote is total sarcasm. Ukraine is a laundromat.
Refineries, which process oil, must have constant supply of crude. They can't simply be turned off and then back on, so long term contracts are used. That keeps ships shuttling back and forth and pipelines constantly flowing.
India is backing away from purchases of Russian oil. Some Indian refineries are not contracting with Russia at all, and others are contracting for only part of their needs.
There will still be plenty of Russian oil sold to India, but not nearly what used to be sold. About one third of India's need will be met by Russia oil; Middle Eastern countries will get the rest of the business.
Why?.... Sanctions. India does not want to be sanctioned.
Breaking the back of Russia's oil industry is seen to be unwise since that would create an oil shortage and price rise. It is much wiser to bleed Russia dry over a period of years.

Bingo
I served in the 90's, the interventions were a total joke show. Europe being typical Europe, they couldn't handle the problems in the Balkans, so they roped the U.S. into involvement there. We're still in the Balkans, 30 years later
The Czech Republic is in the process of transferring 800K artillery shells to Ukraine. To put the number in context, Russia fires about 10,000 shells a day while Ukraine can only fire 2,000 a day. Russia wants to use 15,000 shells a day, so they have a shortage. The shortage Ukraine faces is much, much worse, so 800K shells will provide some much needed relief.
Sweden has expressed interests in donating their old Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine. Ukrainian pilots have been training to fly the jets. Many retired combat pilots say the Gripen is a better fit for the Ukraine theater than the F-16. If it happens, it is very good news, as number of F-16s Ukraine gets is limited.
There has been a lot of talk about Sweden giving up neutrality. Switzerland, it seems, is abandoning neutrality too. In the beginning of the Russian invasion, Switzerland refused to send any weapons to Ukraine, much like like Germany. Now they are willing to give Ukraine the $8B of frozen Russian assets to pay for war damages caused by the invasion. This is not a sure thing yet, as they are going through the political process there.
