They don't appear to know they difference between pets and living things that hitch a ride on trade. If we want world trade, we have to get used to hitchhikers. They are not pets. Maybe somebody in DC remembers that baby who was killed by a big snake that got out of the house .

Know the difference, just got sidetracked asking a question.

First off, how many people in America do you know eat Reptiles and insects? Very few. If anything, more for show on the religious corner. And not any real threat to the greater interest of the general and local public, locally and international. That means selling insects at a Chinese restaurant would fit into this bill.

Check your local listings for pet stores. Aside from Petsmart and Petco, every one you see deals exclusively in birds, small animals, fish and reptiles. My medium sized city has 10 such stores that sell not only reptiles and small exotics, but supplies, feeders etc. This bill will close those stores. Twice a year we have reptile expos that cater to thousands of attendees. These will go away too. There are manufacturer's that deal only in reptile and small pet equipment. Zoo-med, Exoterra and 'Zilla come to mind. They employ hundreds of workers. All gone. Don't forget public aquariums and offices that have decorative fish tanks. Here, most of the casino's and hotels have massive marine fish tanks. Reptile and fish keeping is much larger a hobby then most people realize. Heck, we have forums dedicated to them right here on C-D.

But I know, if it doesn't effect you directly, then getting rid of them is for "the greater good".
