This is about the Uighur Muslims... but it's also about regional coordination w. China.

Jan. 2021 - 10 Chinese spies caught in Kabul get a quiet pardon, fly home in chartered aircraft

Afghanistan has let off the 10 Chinese nationals caught on 10 December for operating a terror cell in the capital city of Kabul and allowed them to leave the country, people familiar with the matter said on Monday. The 10 members of the module were flown out of the country in a plane arranged by the Chinese government.

Hindustan Times had reported the detention of the 10 Chinese nationals by Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) for being part of an espionage module on 25 December. Afghanistan had offered to pardon the 10 Chinese nationals on the condition that Beijing apologise for deploying the 10 persons including at least one woman, believed to be linked to China’s spy agency, Ministry of State Security.

...
A senior diplomat in Kabul had earlier told Hindustan Times that at least two of the 10 Chinese nationals - Li Yangyang and Sha Hung - were in contact with the Haqqani Network, the terrorist group that doubles as the sword arm of the Taliban. Sha Hung used to run a restaurant in Kabul’s Shirpur while Li Yangyang was learnt to have been operating for the Chinese Intelligence since July-August.

...
The Afghan security establishment believes the 10 detainees were creating a fake East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) module in Afghanistan to entrap ETIM operatives in Afghanistan.

ETIM is a small Islamic separatist group alleged to be active in Xinjiang province, home to China’s ethnic minority Uighur Muslims. Its founder Hasan Mahsum, an Uyghur from Xinjiang’s Kashgar region, was shot dead in 2003 by Pakistani soldiers. Islamabad has been playing along with China that has been accused of running camps in Xinjiang region, where more than 1 million people are held in camps.

So... Pakistan is working w/ China... Afghanistan/Taliban are working w/ China. Iran signed a 25 year agreement w/ China back in March... Biden's been working with China for years...

With the U.S. out of Afghanistan, it provides a nice direct route from China to Iran without the U.S. busybodies in the way. China seems to be stacking the deck chairs vice nicely for themselves.

The Haqqani network is mentioned above...

Terror group Haqqani network takes control of Kabul’s security, Khalil Haqqani, with a $5m bounty on his head, seen roaming the streets

A week after capturing Kabul, the seat of power in Afghanistan, the Taliban has delegated the security of Kabul to the members of the dreaded terrorist organisation – Haqqani Network, which has close ties with foreign Islamic terrorist groups, including a long-standing association with Al-Qaeda.

...
The handing over of Kabul by the Taliban to the Haqqani network, according to many western intelligence officials, is in direct violation of Qatar talks in which the Taliban had promised the United States not to engage or allow the country to become a safe haven for foreign terrorists, such as Al-Qaeda.

With the Taliban entrusting Haqqani’s with the security of Kabul, apprehensions are being raised regarding the prospect of Al-Qaeda being welcomed back to Afghanistan, which would break promises made by Taliban leaders during diplomatic talks in Qatar with the US officials last year.

During the Qatar talks, the then US President Donald Trump had struck a deal with the Taliban in February 2020, where the group’s leaders had agreed not to allow any of its members, other individuals or groups, including Al-Qaeda, to use the soil of Afghanistan to threaten the security of the United States and its allies.

And from the article in the OP, they have no problems working with the Chinese as well.

So Pakistan is working with China to oppress their moslem Uyghur brothers. Does that mean the dancing Israelis are actually real too?

One more on the region...

The discussion is now - will China fall into the same trap as the U.S. and Russia in dealing with Afghanistan.

China will be the next empire to enter the Afghan 'graveyard'

As Afghanistan descends into tribal warfare following America’s hasty departure, China plans to “swoop in” and “fill the vacuum.”

“Beijing just can’t wait for the U.S. to get out of the way,” Syed Fazl-e-Haider of the Daily Beast reports.

...
China has long sought control of Afghanistan. For one thing, Beijing has coveted natural resources, especially copper — China has a 30-year lease on the deposits at Mes Aynak. Beijing also eyes the country’s gold, uranium and lithium.

The Chinese still want the minerals, but now their ambitions include tying that country firmly into the Belt and Road Initiative, their global transportation-infrastructure program. Beijing planners, for instance, hope to complete a Kabul-Peshawar highway, linking the Afghan capital to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a $62 billion series of projects that is part of the Belt and Road network.

More importantly, Beijing wants to deny oppressed Turkic minorities a sanctuary. Chinese officials have been surreptitiously working with the terrorist Haqqani network, inside Afghanistan, to go after activists and militants working to free Uyghurs brutally treated in what Beijing calls its Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The region shares a 47-mile border with Afghanistan.

Perhaps China’s main advantages in Afghanistan are its firm lock on neighboring Pakistan and Beijing’s long-standing ties to the Taliban, which go as far back to the time the group was in power, from 1996 to 2001. China has supplied the Taliban with weapons and even helped it after the Sept. 11 attacks, according to news reports.

Afghanistan will be crawling with Chinese spies, and other agents of the Chicome regime, now that resident Biden has turned the region into a power vacuum.

Maybe the Afghanistans and the Taliban can bankrupt China like the did the USSR.

Or make them spend a lot of lives and money like did to the USA. Guess you saw the photos of the roads built by the Chinese while our military was telling us the Afghans were almost ready to take over their own defense.

The only Americans who came out of this debacle ok were the MIC. One would think we would learn. The people in the jobs created by weapons builders could just as easily have been working on infrastructure.

You can know people by how they spend their money.

The Chinese have always been very good at business. They are treating Afghan. as a business venture and not like the West as Nation building. We had a business man in the presidents office and the Politicians hated him .They refused to understand him.
Politicians are good at getting elected and that's IT...Peter Principal.

How will the Chinese blend in? They dont exactly look or act like Afghans. The closest relatives the Chinese have to Afghans is the Uyghurs themselves. The Uyghurs can infiltrate Afghan society.
