So why not reimburse EVERY victim of a scam?

There should have been some reimbursement but it should have been partial, not total. I'd like to know what the SIPC laid out to Madoff victims, or it they were fully covered by the Trustee from recovered assets.

There's nothing special about this scam or that scam.

They're all scams.

But we're paying for this one.

It makes no sense.

Yeah and my school isn't even on the list.

Apparently other scam victims don't get reimbursed because it's typically less money but why does that matter? Hard earned money is hard earned money and when you don't have a lot of money that smaller amount makes a difference when it's been swindled out of you. Plus it's not like it's just pennies. Now if it was just like a dollar I can maybe see their hesitation but over 100 should be enough. Worse yet you need that reimbursement from the government more that way because the amount is too small to get a lawyer to take your case to small claims court.

Yeah, it is in this case. Very selective and targeted welfare.
