Why do the cops even try anymore? The mob is going to do what they do and the cops are risking their lives trying to stop them. It is obvious that the elected in Chicago do not care to stop the violence so why should the cops even try?
The cops should have all come down with the "Blue Flu" and called in that night. The city could have sent counselors in to defuse the mob.
Of course if the cops call in with the Blue Flu and the riot rages on the residents of that neighborhood are granted the Right to protect themselves and property by any means necessary with no repercussions. The cleanup crew will come in to clean up the bodies in the morning.

The store’s longtime owner, Earl Westforth, also ignored warnings from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives about suspicious purchases at his store, despite remedial training on how to spot the signs of trafficking, according to the suit.
Responsible gun owners/purchasers and sellers would avoid the practices this store seems to have flouted.
The answer to that is Indiana + NRA = gun violence in Chicago.
That makes no sense at all. They should not have guns period. Doesn’t matter where they got them, according to the laws they shouldn’t have them. Do you blame the liquor store when someone buys something, drinks and drives drunk (against the law)?
Black families with a married couple have poverty rates in the single digits the past 30+ years and kids that do not commit high crime rates.
In the 1940s and 1950s with more racism than today and blacks moving to urban areas (where crime rates are above the national average), black violent crime rates were falling and well below today's black violent crime rate. Black families were more intact back then.
Is it possible the lack of intact family units leads to these scenes?

Yes, any use of fireworks is a form of US patriotism whether it be some guy in Argentina launching them or a group of criminals launching them at cops it is all a form of US patriotism.

They don't want to face the underlying social ills and do things about it, so they try to tell everyone that the guns from areas with 5-10x lower levels of gun violence are to blame for Chicagos gun violence.
