If the opposing minority side can simply walk out and cause a bill to fail, then there is no point for a majority or a minority and it tells the people that their votes mean nothing.

How is it childish? It works. They won. They've done it before so this shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. They are exploiting a loophole that the Texas GOP is too timid to close. But don't worry the Texas dems will close it next time they have the majority to keep the GOP from doing the same to them, because they are not timid.
