Say - hypothetically - we require every eligible voter to own a a half million dollar piece of property in order to vote. No one without can vote.
See how this works?
You are requiring people to PAY for right. That’s illegal.
Are you aware how many Americans do not have a birth certificate? I worked in a State Department Passport Acceptance Center in my last job - and MANY individuals do not have birth certificates. You’re required to have one to get not only a passport - but a driver’s license - and now with REAL ID a birth certificate is required.
You cannot function in modern life without an ID. Everything from employment to seeing a doctor to establishing utilities in your home requires an ID.
You cannot receive any government benefits without an iD. Social Services will track down necessary documentation to get you an ID before you can even receive any money or benefits. The poorest of people by and large have ID for this reason.

I called the county courthouse and they sent me my birth certificate, my dad was born at home in rural Texas in the early 20’s to sharecroppers and he had a birth certificate. I really doubt that no one can obtain a birth certificate. Why didn’t they have a birth certificate? Do they have a social security number? Are they legal born citizens ? How are they getting aide?

Both of my parents were born at home as well. My father in Texas in 1936, my mother in Hawaii in 1942 (when it was still just a US territory!). Both of them managed to have birth certificates created by their county’s Vital Statistics Depts and both of them went on to enjoy life ... with identification!

There are no excuses left. None.
Democrats have mildly suggested some races of people can’t google DMV or how to get an ID.
Way to bring on high standards Democrats.
