This ceasefire should last a good week or two before Hamas reloads their missile launchers.

Israel is our ally, but why are they our ally? What would the Middle-East look like without Israel?

The question isn't whether what the Palestinians did was good. The question is whether what they did was rational. To answer that question, you have to imagine yourself a Palestinian.

If I was a Palestinian I would hate Israel, and I would hate the United States. Palestine believes the Jews stole their land with the help of Britain and America. And that the only reason Israel is powerful, is because they get billions a year in free weapons from the United States.

Your argument is, they already lost the land, they're never getting it back, so it is better for them to just accept it and move on. Their continued fighting has only caused them to lose even more land, and lives, etc.

The truce appears to be holding for the time being, and Prime Minister Netanyahu appears to be pleased with what was achieved by Israel during the conflict.

Quote:
Netanyahu hails 'exceptional success' in Gaza campaign as truce appears to hold

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday hailed Israel's 11 days of intense fighting with the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip as an "exceptional success," hours after a ceasefire to end the conflict went into effect. The ceasefire that took hold at 2am Friday brought to an end thousands of rocket attacks on Israel, primarily against its southern population centers, and waves of IDF strikes on terror targets in Gaza.

It appeared to be holding Friday, offering Israelis and Gazans their first day of quiet in almost two weeks. "We achieved our goals in the operation," Netanyahu said of the campaign primarily targeted at Hamas, the Islamist terror group that controls Gaza, and Islamic Jihad, the second largest armed group in the enclave. He said that "the public doesn't know everything" about Israel's gains in the operation "and neither does Hamas."

Netanyahu also warned the Gaza factions against any further attacks on Israel. "If Hamas thinks we will tolerate a drizzle of rockets, it is wrong," Netanyahu said. The prime minister vowed to respond with "a new level of force" against any aggression anywhere in Israel. Gantz also warned Hamas it would pay a "heavy, very heavy" price if it breached the ceasefire.
Hopefully this is over, but we will see.

They really really want a war with Iran. Netanyahu has been begging America to go to war with Iran for like 30 years. Claiming the entire time that Iran will have a nuke any day now.
The reason Israel doesn't look anything like the 1947 UN partition plan is because the Palestinian Arabs refused to accept it and then when the British vacated the area, all the Arab neighboring nations attacked Israel in order to wipe off of the map. This didn't happen and the situation has continued to backfire on the Palestinian Arabs. Israel will never go back to the 1947 UN partition plan borders.

I suggest you check Google starting with WWI and how the British made conflicting promises to the Jews and Arabs in relation to the future of Palestine (which includes the Kingdom of Jordan).

Hamas doesn't control the West Bank. Hamas only controls Gaza which was completely vacated by Israel in 2005 under the former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

Hamas isn't the guardian of the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex. Jordan is the custodian of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. What happened there is not related to the ceasefire between Gaza and Israel.

Again Egypt has a land border with Gaza. Why isn't anyone talking about the Egyptian blockade of Gaza? Why doesn't Egypt open up that border to help their fellow Arabs in Gaza? Also why didn't Egypt make Gaza an independent state between 1948-1967 instead of controling that area back then?

I know " Hamas dont control the West bank " but despite this , Israel continue to build settlements there

Israel would continue to build even Hamas were gone in the morning

The people who were trying to throw the Arabs out of E. Jerusalem are immigrants. One from New York gave an interview. They are not the owners. They lease under the JNF which buys up homes from which people fled during the guerilla warfare among Jews, Arabs, and the British. Those titles also predate the Israeli state and should have no legal standing due to the dislocation caused by the terrorism, nor should the homestead laws on discriminatory grounds.

They're resettling all of Palestine. That's what the 3.4 million Jewish immigrants are for. The irony is that the same people who are upset with immigration in the US are good with it.

There is no "Palestine."

And the four families (this entire violent attack by Hamas terrorists was over four families) were given the option to remain in their houses. The only thing they had to do was acknowledge it was Jewish land. Their hate for Jews wouldn't allow it, and so out they went.
