I really like Tim Ryan he would have made a great candidate in 2020 but never got attention from the democrats. He is fairly moderate and this is out of character for him but boy is he spot on. If they can't at least get agreement on the Jan 6 commission why would they expect agreement on anything else.

Ryan then compared the opposition to the bill, which passed 252-175 on Wednesday, to the Republican-led probe into the 2012 terrorist attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, which left four Americans dead and critics largely saw as a political move against Hillary Clinton. The probe concluded in 2016, costing roughly $7 million, and did not suggest Clinton was personally responsible for or could have prevented the attack.

“Benghazi, you guys chased the former secretary of state all over the country, spent millions of dollars. We have people scaling the Capitol, hitting the Capitol Police with lead pipes across the head and we can't get bipartisanship. What else has to happen in this country?” Ryan said.

I’d rather DC waste their time on the capital riots than muck things up on policy, so by all means carry on!

I agree with Ryan.

"Beating the other side of the isle" has become more important than serving the country, to the GOP

Ryan, a 10-term House member who has launched a bid for Ohio's open Senate seat, said the opposition was a "slap in the face to every rank-and-file cop in the United States."

What does Ryan care about the "rank-and-file cop in the United States"?
Has he pushed for an investigation on their beatings and killings?
Has he pushed for an investigation on previous beatings of the Capitol police?

Seems the answers would be a resounding no on the above questions.

He doesn't care that cops were beaten by rioters, he only cares about 'which' rioters were doing the beatings .. just like the rest of the left.

I know it’s disappointing for those of us living in reality for Trump’s fragile ego to still wield such control over one of our two major parties. But take heart, for this vote is another in a trend of things moving in the right direction, and the loser liar’s influence within the R party slowly ebbing away.

Jan - 5% of House Rs vote to impeach
Feb - 14% of Senate Rs vote to convict
May - 17% of House Rs vote to investigate

Imagine if the insurrectionists had managed to actually kill Pence as was the plan.

I bet we would have seen maybe 20% today.

Anyone who actually believes that the rope carried by protesters at the Capitol was anything more than an effigy is a complete moron.
