You inherited it unknowingly and your intent wasn't to cheat the system. Not so with the Greene's. They tried to get away with a double exemption and got caught.

Unless she does the highly unlikely by turning on Trump, I see Trump supporters letting her get by with as much cheating, lying and bad behavior in public as she wants.

I have one too.
The laws vary from state to state.
Inheritance laws also vary from state to state.

Then why bother to cheat or just admit you made a mistake because you didn’t know. Or they could say they recently moved if that was the reason. Why attack the messenger who is just doing their job and reporting it.

Either Greene is stupid, or she committed tax fraud. If Greene doesn't understand and follow the laws, she should not be in congress!

The law is not invisible. If you had a homestead exemption, why would you not think your father also did?

If the estate settlement was too complex for you, you should have hired an attorney.

Or if the tax laws for her state are that complicated she could push to have them changed or at least explained better so no one else has this problem. My gut says she’s a cheater but let’s give her the benefit.
