Have you never read the Declaration of Independence?

Do you not know the historical events that led to the Civil War?

We had a good run, but it's over.

There is one horrific, potential near-term development, that would very likely cause the US to split. It is a 2024 election victory by Trump himself. Would possibly mean the end of America and for that reason, Putin will do all in his power to make it happen. Even if its a long-shot, the implications are just too great (the destruction of his greatest foe) to not take a swing.
It basically is though.

Think about....For separation to even be proposed, you need to set boundaries. Are only sole states going to separate(e.g. California, Texas, Hawaii, etc.)?Are regions or a group of states going to separate? Are the majority of voters and residents in the states/regions on board with full-scale separation to the degree that they will fight hard to make it a reality?

And, if so, what's going to be the basis for that separation..... politics?

And how do you measure that? The politics of the Governor? The politics of the Senator? Whether the state voted Blue/Red in the 2020 or 2016 or any previous elections?

A number of Southern/Midwestern states have Dem governors in 2021 and Texas and Georgia are Purple states than can flip in the future easily. Even West Virginia has a plurality of Democrat registered voters, edging out the Republican ones by a very slight margin.

The minority of Americans who are serious about separation probably can't even come to grips about how to set the boundaries up for this "separation" plan which will also set it up for failure.

Separation is a fantasy. I'm not talking about mere support for it or having members on a Facebook page for it. I'm talking about a real, unified movement that can make it a reality. Maybe in 2050 that'll be a possibility but definitely not anytime soon.

The Great Lakes region is likely to become a nation. It would include Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and maybe also Kentucky. New York and Pennsylvania have lakefront but they look more likely to join an Atlantic nation. Some of the forces splitting the USA apart are also splitting Canada. French-speaking Quebec is the most obvious division. The Canadian Maritimes might merge with New England. West of Quebec, I see four new nations: Ontario, the prairie provinces, Cascadia (with Oregon and Washington), and the far north Inuit.

And Michigan's Upper Peninsula gets statehood.

The national debt is likely to be defaulted before the split, like any other part of the world's vast amounts of unpayable debt. The collapse of the global debt economy is a factor in the split.

It's actually an app designed to tell if you live in a political bubble or not. Put in your address, and it will show if your neighbors are Democrat or Republican, represented by blue and red dots. Zoom out and you can see the voting patterns of the US, on a more granular level even than the county-by-county map yu shared.

Enjoy! Let us know if we can help you get there! Because IMO it's pseudo-conservative mopes who try to control peoples' medical decisions, whom they sleep with and fantasize about their loser actually having won an election and rioting in support of that delusion creating far too many of our problems.

OP, you say both sides of the aisle are advocating splitting up the US.

Who on the Left is advocating for that? I only see it espoused by the very far right, and actually, only on this forum.

I advocate that we are all going to have a difference of opinions and work together and stop the us vs them. Maybe instead of dividing the country up, just vote out all the politicians and fire the press and start new.
