You are never going to solve the drug problem until you solve the gun problem. Democrats have been trying, it's the Republicans who keep stopping the obvious solution.

It is sad and if a drug addict is hanging out on the street not stealing, robbing etc maybe it's no so bad. Unless your a business owner or have to travel through that area of the city.

One would figure this Democratically controlled sanctuary, Soros DA city those homeless would be taken care of. I bet there are local politicians foaming at the mouth wanting to take some illegal border crossers.
This looks JUST LIKE what Biden is doing to our country! The Illegals get a nice hotel room for $68 Million, courtesy of Joe Biden...BUT...the homeless people get to kiss the cold sidewalk at night!

Problem with rehab unless the addict wants to stop/change they won't. That's why they always talk about THE bottom. Getting picked by police doesn't mean they are at a bottom. They have to really really want it. To do it for a court order or to appease family or employer is not enough for many. They have to want it.

I've had jobs where the same individuals were given multiple chances with a good job/bennies at stake along with a marriage, family, house, dog etc and most of them got fired after their third trip to rehab. Addicts are selfish people. Yes some of them have issues, experienced trauma but many don't care and become accustomed to their way of life being it becomes another habit. Also I've read numerous cases of the years where the same person was revived pulled away from death 3-6 times. Many don't care or actually want to end things.

Keep in mind frequently all involved knew/know they are committing a crime for their habit/profit. They willingly broke the law. Not everyone is victim of the law or worthy of martyr status. They are criminals. That being said yes there are some harsh penalties and poop associated with the war on drugs but like most wars they started for a reason.

Its every local, state, and federal politicians to hold down their area of responsibility. TX needs to do a better job at the local level. Federal Govt needs to lock that border down better when it comes to illegal contraband.

Will legalizing them get those homeless addicts off the streets? I doubt that. Oxycodone is perfectly legal, or was, and look what happened. Barbituates, Cocaine, etc etc all were legal once.

A Billion can fund a lot of missiles aimed at the camps in Mexico that make this garbage. Identify, target, hit.

As we all have discovered, word gets out south of the border pretty quick.
This would be disastrous for US law enforcement!

No drugs coming in, means NO MORE drug arrests.

The war on drugs requires a steady consistent supply of drugs coming at all times

Yes and look at who supplies these drugs now...foreign criminal organizations!

The addicts didnt stop using, the only difference is who is profiting from the drugs.

If any able bodied man or woman starts putting a needle in his arm, or whatever, and then becomes a detriment to society, why should I have any compassion at all for them? Why should any of my tax dollars be used to house and feed them?

Just think how much better the human race would be if we stopped coddling addicts and criminals.

Philadelphia, like every other major city has been run by Democrats since the 1950's. This is the dystopian society they want to make everyone but their elite cronies dependent on Government and living this kind of lifestyle. Only Charlton Heston could save us.
