Pocket veto does not apply here, Congress is in session, and it was a regular veto anyway.

Trump will now face a likely rebuke from Congress in the form of a veto override.

Next step is the House vote on the 28th.

This thread is about the NDAA not the stimulus bill.

It appears that it’s not a guarantee that the override will succeed. Trump sycophant McCarthy refuses to go against the dear leader on the override so he will take quite a few R votes with him.

Ultimately though, I still put the chances of the override succeeding at maybe 60-70%.

The House has voted to override 322 to 87.

The Senate is almost surely guaranteed to follow suit now, perhaps as soon as today.

DT is now irrelevant and the adults in Congress are taking away his toys.

Looks like the Senate vote may be held up a few days as a few Senators plan to object to its consideration until the Senate considers the $2000 check relief measure.

80 Senators voted to proceed to consideration of the override yesterday, clearly indicating there are more than enough to secure passage in the chamber, likely on Saturday.

The Senate voted today to override President Trump's veto, 81-13.

Don't you know the two Republican Senators from Georgia are glad they could miss the vote. The one, Mr. Perdue, is quarantined, the other, Ms. Loffler, campaigning.

Hence, they didn't have to vote against Mr. Trump.
