Biden is said to push for a Public Option with healthcare. Do any other countries have this public option? How are they doing?

You can make your own judgement on how they are doing.

The left is so afraid of corporate monopolies, but they love government monopolies.

From my understanding a 'Public Option' is different from a Single-Payer system or a NHS type system. It is supposed to exist with private insurance.

You guys might want to peruse the Wikipedia link above. Providing universal health care is a problem that has been solved in half a dozen different ways, with different mixtures of government/private/regulated non-profit etc. etc. Point being, it's been solved.

That was my issue with Trump and his liberal supporters. They wanted big government.

Let's hope conservatives have a candidate in the next election.

But solving it for the USA has been particularly difficult. Large population, varied demographics and above all our political divide. Not to even mention that in the USA we tend to pay more for less as compared to many other successful countries.

The private US health insurance companies are parasitical entities who've managed to integrarte themselves deep within the host organism. They're making a lot of money skimming off the top, they spend a sizable ***** of that money on buying legislators, and they have stupid, stupid people convinced that that's "freedom".

A part of any more UHC plan for the USA will have to provide for choices. Both for patients and docs/providers.
