They put paper over the windows of the room where the votes were being counted, because 100+ Trump supporters had gathered outside the window, planning to do god knows what.
With COVID restrictions, the poll watchers weren't allowed to literally peer over the shoulders of poll workers, which is typical, but when the watchers brought binoculars they were allowed to use them and weren't restricted.
Let me ask this, Grlzrl.
Do you see anyone else on his side? Are there other Republican leaders saying the things he's saying, or standing with him? I ask, because I don't see a single other voice with him, but didn't want to be wrong if he's got others (besides his loyal voters) agreeing with him.
Well, let's see. Chris Christie, for example, wants to keep his job at ABC. Rick Santorum probably wants to keep his job at CNN. Just a couple of examples.

Those two people would explain why NO ONE is at his side now? Where's Mitch McConnell? Where's Pence?
Where is ANYONE who should have been standing with Trump at that podium if they didn't think his claims were outrageous? Or giving quotes to the media in support of Trump?
If anyone actually believed what Trump was saying, they'd be there behind him on the podium. Even some democrats would be there, out of a sense of wanting to be on the side of the "good guys".
No one in this country wants to see the election process subverted, and if it were actually being fraudulently handled, there would be many, many people coming forward.
People have a right to be suspicious when other people are putting pizza boxes in front of windows where the ballots are being counted. It would tend to make some people believe they are trying to hide something... Wonder why they would get that idea?
It would tend to make be believe the people on the other side of the window are being disruptive. Vote counters have a job to do. They should be able to do it without a boatload of morons who don't understand the elections process breathing down their necks.

Like I said, people are going to look at covering up windows where ballots are being counted with great suspicion. You can make all kinds of theories about why they did it, but was it really within their right to do so? Suspicion of their activity and what they were trying to hide is the natural response of freedom loving people who believe we as a nation have a right to the utmost of integrity and transparency in our election process.
And then there were multiple reports of poll watchers not being allowed to be anywhere near where they should have been in order to do their job.

Yes. There's not even an obligation to have windows. There are observers from both parties who actually understand the process, and then you have window lickers like these:

Yes, they are. Their job is to count votes. They should be able to do so without distraction. The general public is not allowed to be in the room, or to disrupt the process.

I wasn't talking about them being in the same room. I was talking about the crowd being outside of the windows. If they are being disruptive, the police should remove them.

Who wants to work with those clowns hammering on the glass?
If those people are not supposed to be there, they should be removed for creating a disturbance. Covering the windows does seem rather shady and gives the appearance that they have something to hide.
Both party has observers in the room where the ballots are being counted. You can't let 100s of people in there. The people that the parties have selected to observe are enough.
