I think you are right. They are no longer allowed to be true to their professional beliefs in public. Speak to a mental health professional in private, one that trusts you, then you will learn what they truly "consider".
Even if you identify gender dysphoria as a mental illness, is your position that people with mental illnesses cannot function in society or hold public office? Having a mental illness doesn't mean that you're incapable of sound judgment or representing your constituents, especially if your illness is being treated.
I have no problem with any LGBT, including Transgender/Transexual being elected, however, their sexuality, gender, etc, should NOT be the centerpiece of their policy positions. So no freaking crusaders that are one trick ponies that formulate their positions based solely on their sex/gender issues.

They also have no clue as to the result of the hormone disrupting chemicals in utero and forever in the daily lives of all of us.
I say congratulations to Sarah McBride, and I hope that she has a successful term and many more. Her life choices in regard to her gender, are not a factor to me . Is she honest? Well she is for a fact at least honest with herself. That takes extraordinary courage. I know 6 transgender, 4 really well. While I won't say that they equal all, I will say that they are amazing people.
One more freak politician is nothing new. If you can vote for a pedo why not a trans?
You have a right to believe how you want to but when did being Transgender = Being a pedophile.
Many pedophiles are people who convince others they are outstanding moral characters while doing their sick deeds behind closed doors.
