Politics are like Pro Wrestling. Your Good Guys are tight with your Bad Guys behind the scene. They are working you and you are a big enough mark to marry yourself to either the blue team or the red team and believe that they are actually feuding with one another, when in reality they are raking in all the cash and laughing at you.
LOL, I don't think that this is actually that unpopular of a view.

What's interesting about this is many people acknowledge the paradigm you've described yet continue to play the game.

Go Team Red!
Go Team Blue!
It's astounding.
Very much like wrestling. My Grandma used to get so upset about what she was watching when wrestling was on TV that she would have to leave the room, all red faced. Then she'd come back and go "well, they're all friends" LOL

I can't talk too much trash.
As a kid I was completely distraught when the Iron Sheik defeated Bob Backlund in 1983.
ESPECIALLY since Backlund didn't quit, Skaaland threw in the towel!!
Please, don't remind me.
Maddening.
