Why has the Democratic Party gone mad? (ethic, illegal, extremist)

You know, it’s funny how we’ve had the rise of the Tea Party, the alt right, the election of the Mad King for President, Republican gerrymandering, 8 years of Republican obstructionism, Republican stealing of a SCOTUS appointment, yet....the “Democrats” are being accused here of having gone mad.
To be honest, the right has only to look in the mirror for the rise of the progressive left. Democrats have been centrist for years, while the Republicans have yanked the center ever further to the right. Democrats have tried to be conciliatory but to no avail. No matter what any Democrat does they’ll be accused of being “radical”, “socialist”, a “far left loon”. Well guess what? Now the chickens are coming home to roost. You cry wolf enough times, eventually, the wolf comes knockin’ at your door and no one will believe you.
We’re in a new age baby, get ready.
OMG, what the heck are you talking and thinking about? Not one thing you are saying has any truth to it: No one stole the anything? Can you explain where that idea comes from? What 8 years of GOP obstructionism?
There are a few overly right wingers but overall the Republicans are much closer to middle of the road. The dems didn't used to be pushing socialism but not it is almost crazy.
The Democrats are bound and determined to push against anything the Republicans would like to accomplish. they have shown many times in the past few years just how hateful they can be and some of the leaders are calling for violence. What about the group who picketed Tucker's home or those who did what they could be get CRuz and to get Sarah removed from a restaurant? That isn't radical behavior?
Our Pesident is neither mad nor a king. He can act like a toddler or a first grader from time to time. You just have to blow him off and get over it
In trying to come to grips with the metastasizing madness of today’s Democratic left, pundits typically cite factors such as these, all of which play a role:
Hatred of Trump – This is indeed a major factor, since intense hatred can, all by itself, literally make a person crazy. As I write in “How Evil Works”: “Hate is like spiritual plutonium, possessing bizarre, explosive and transformative qualities of which we are largely unaware. It is the means by which evil itself blooms on this earth, especially when rage is focused and magnified by a malignant worldview.” If you get mad enough – you go mad.
Toxic ideology – This would be the “malignant worldview” just mentioned. The radical-left ideology that has consumed today’s Democratic Party is arrogant (moral superiority to “greedy, racist Republicans” is its ethical foundation), it is dishonest (lying to defeat “fascists” and “Nazis” is always morally permissible), contemptuous of history (leftist revolutionaries see the past as wall-to-wall oppression that must be overturned and buried), and religiously devoted to socialism (this despite its stunning 100 percent failure rate, most recently in oil-rich Venezuela where inflation approaches 1 million percent and there’s no toilet paper).
Emotional thinking – It’s widely recognized (there are even multiple peer-reviewed studies confirming) that liberals think more emotionally, while conservatives think more logically, in arriving at policy ideas. Unfortunately, emotional thinking is incompatible with sober consideration of the long-term consequences of policies that, however disastrous in the long term, make the person advancing them feel like a morally good person right now.
Hatred of America – The same leftists who so easily brand Trump and Republicans as racist and immoral tend also to feel essentially the same way about their own nation – seeing America as a fundamentally racist, immoral country. That is why, to cite just one example, over 100 Civil War-era statues, monuments and symbols have been torn down across the U.S. since 2015.
Indoctrination – It’s well known that America’s colleges and universities, with rare exceptions, are utterly possessed by the most radical parts of the leftist political and cultural spectrum, prompting historian William Lind to refer to today’s colleges as “small, ivy-covered North Koreas.”
Other factors are often cited: Conservative political commentator Steven Crowder says the left is not compassionate as claimed, but rather, consumed with envy. (Indeed, Winston Churchill described socialism as “the gospel of envy.”) If that sounds like a transgression of the Tenth Commandment, “Thou shalt not covet,” consider that in reality the left cannot operate or even exist in its present form without violating virtually all of the Ten Commandments – from “Thou shalt not kill” (abortion), to “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (the left’s sexual revolution), to “Thou shalt not steal” (“wealth redistribution”) to “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor” (the left’s reflexive defamation of opponents as “racists” and “haters”).
It is called Trump Derangement Syndrome or TDS and it is a real thing.
They hate that a DC outsider would dare to take on their gal and beat her. They hate that there are millions of people in this country that love it and respect it. They hate that these same people are not beholding to them like so many of their voters are.
The push by the Far Left Extremists that seem to have the loudest voice in the Democrat party are looking to transform the country in to something it was never meant to be. Obama called this the Fundamental Change.
They call us Deplorable and all sorts of terrible names for failing to see their brilliance when it comes to driving America off a cliff and turn it into a third world country.
It's interesting to read the different perspectives that are opposite. And both sides are sure that they're right. I saw lots of republican obstructionism when Obama was president. Merrick Garland, anyone? And the democrats couldn't have obstructed anything in the past two years... the republicans had all of the control. What could the dems have stopped? Everything that didn't get passed was in limbo because of the republicans.
We will just have to see what happens. I wouldn't put too much stock in what a far-right fringe online publication has to say. I would put some stock in what the recent elections had to say as well as the number of people who voted blue vs the number of people who voted red. But really, there's no way to tell what will happen. Will more progressive representatives make the democrat party more or less effective? Who knows?
The simplest explanation I found is they never considered the possibility of losing. The saw the poll lead and took that as winning before the vote. The Republicans knew they were in a fight and did the electoral math.
Some psychologists and psychiatrists have taken a stab at this subject, including Lyle Rossiter, M.D., a clinical and forensic psychiatrist and expert witness in countless court cases, who wrote “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness.” In it, Rossiter explains:
To rescue us from our troubled lives, the liberal agenda recommends denial of personal responsibility, encourages self-pity and other-pity, fosters government dependency, promotes sexual indulgence, rationalizes violence, excuses financial obligation, justifies theft, ignores rudeness, prescribes complaining and blaming, denigrates marriage and the family, legalizes all abortion, defies religious and social tradition, declares inequality unjust, and rebels against the duties of citizenship. Through multiple entitlements to unearned goods, services and social status, the liberal politician promises to ensure everyone’s material welfare, provide for everyone’s healthcare, protect everyone’s self-esteem, correct everyone’s social and political disadvantage, educate every citizen, and eliminate all class distinctions. Radical liberalism thus assaults the foundations of civilized freedom. Given its irrational goals, coercive methods and historical failures, and given its perverse effects on character development, there can be no question of the radical agenda’s madness."
It has taken since Goldwater ran for the JBS to run the Republican Party. You can't get much further right.
The young progressives are trying to take over the democratic party.
We will meet somewhere in the middle if pragmatic realist ever get their numbers up.
One side calling the other side crazies is not productive. We are pretty much split right down the middle.
Would we rather our side win or poison the well if they don't? Or can we elect people willing to honor all sides. Doing the most good for the most number has been lost in DC. Our elected just want the benefits that come with the job.

You continue to close your eyes while they are arrested with pipe bombs and other means of killing.
What kind of cognitive dissonance allows you to do this?
think you're mistaken. Democrats have been moving further and further left which is what led to Democrats massive losses in 2014 and 2016
