Since even a Democrat will be voting for the Judge there is really no point in even hoping that one more Republican will find his/her soul before todays vote.
Collins is betting her carreer on this yes vote and hopes everyone will forget in 2 years.
But in the end this is the expected outcome. Anything else would have been a big surprise to me. US politics have been party over country for over a decade on the republican side.

So, do you think the same about rbg?

She publicly stated how she felt about our current president, do you think if anything comes before her that has to do with our president, she will be impartial? She also falls a sleep, and stated she was not 100% sober while on the job....

I won't make that mistake again.

That said - the Republican party doesn't want to alienate women which is why your fantasy isn't going to happen.

And he was 17! Which is why he kept saying that 'seniors were eligible to drink' instead of saying he was. Just a little sleight of hand to fool ya. Worked!

Of course the Republicans won't be foolish enough to lead such an investigation. They won't need to. Plenty of others will do the digging.

Once it became apparent Ford might well have lied under oath the Republicans will act. The Rep. base will demand it. They'll be out for blood. Now does this mean she could end up in jail? I seriously doubt it but she will be forced to come clean.

Any candidate has a 50/50 chance of becoming president.

Oh, please. You were certain Trump would lose.

Here's the reason: The court is to rule on what the law says in cases brought before it. Liberals believe that the court should be another legislative body, which interprets law not as written, but taking into account popular political views (which change with the wind), and imposing their political views. That is NOT what a judge is to do. This is why it is important to have judges on the Supreme Court that believe that 'Lady Justice' is still blind, and who look at the original intent of the law and the Constitution, without regard for popular opinion.

Again, pure fantasy. Well, I mean - maybe Alex Jones will look into it for you.

Otherwise, never happen. The republican base is old and forgetful. They will have their early Bob Evans' dinner and move on to their next crisis.

Well - you don't have that and you never will.

Every partisan judge (all of them likely) believes their interpretation of the relatively short and vague document called the constitution written 200 years ago ~ is THE correct one.

Your definition of equality, justice and the law has them spinning. This whole spectacle the Democrats put on was a travesty. They know nothing about truth.

Nope this story is a gold and people will continue digging to uncover what actually happened.

Also, the fact that others held the info and then "leaked" it at a very convenient time does not mean Ford made it up to be used as a ploy. A more thourough investigation would have helped those who had more questions and weren't on a party "team." A good many Americans are independent and were not in a rush to judge either way.
The dems got everything they wanted. They delayed the vote to hear Dr. Ford speak. They delayed the vote again so the FBI could investigate. Yet nothing seems to be enough. Its obvious that all of this was just a ploy to push this into 2019. Dr. Ford was a speed bump used only to slow the process down when it benefited the dems. Yes she was certainly a victim of abuse but not by Kavanaugh but by the Dems. If Feinstein and the dems really cared about the truth instead of using Dr. Ford as a ploy to stall confirmation it would have been been brought to the attention of the committee when they found out about it. It could have been kept private and investigated.

Democrat voters need to look at who is running their party and the endless wrong turns they keep making. You should demand more of your party instead of playing the blame game against the GOP. The dems in the committee that pushed Flake into asking the FBI investigate handed Kavanaugh the confirmation. It would have failed otherwise.

My gut feeling as a non dem or GOP is this whole charade will energize the GOP voters and puts the dems chances in taking back congress in peril.
