1. I highly doubt gay marriage will be overturned. That is not like the abortion issue, which has remained constant in the level of support for decades. In contrast the support for gay marriage continues to grow year after year, and is now approaching 70%.
2. Obamacare will not be overturned. Kennedy was one of those against it. Roberts + the 4 liberals are still there, that is the majority that upheld it.
3. Civil rights laws are not going to be overturned, that is the most absurd thing in your OP. Those enjoy broad support among both parties.
4. Abortion may face some additional restrictions but I doubt Roe v Wade is overturned wholesale, at least not right away.
I agree with this. It's unlikely Kavanaugh's vote will change any of these issues/laws. Obamacare may be overturned but there will have to be an alternative that works for everyone. As for Roe v Wade, I doubt that will EVER be overturned. It's an institution in and of itself.
I don't know about that. What Wesley Snipes got threatened with incarceration with Trump has been getting away with for decades. Color first, money second.

This is why you guys keep losing. Keep lying. Keep driving independent voters away. The guy is a stand-up federal judge with no criminal history even. He’s not mentally ill and has no evidence of that. He’s not an alcoholic because he drank at parties in high school. Give it up. Choose better battles.
To the bolded (my emphasis), I saw this and found her comments alarming. She said that the pendulum has swung the other way and if some innocent men get caught in it, that was okay because she felt it was just based on history. I will never accept that as okay. Never. People like her and these kinds of ideas are the antithesis of everything our country believes and was founded upon.
It's the core principle of the feminist #MeToo movement. They've been saying this all along, that it's crucial that women are believed no matter what so they'll not be afraid to come forward. They've never reconciled that with the rule of law and presumption of innocence in this country, and when asked the question they always say some men may get caught up in it but too bad.
This is why I've never been a fan of this movement, even though I'm a woman. And she's wrong. I think this is the moment the pendulum is moving back to the middle.
We have a judical branch that was founded on Judeo-Christian principles . The Bible is clear. If there is one witness with an accusation it is not enough . There must be two or three witnesses to corroborate the accusation. There was no other one to corroborate Ford's story. It is not enough . Innocent until PROVEN guilty.
Me ... the only conspiracy theory that I have particular fondness for is that there is benefit to political dissension. This leak seems to have created a doozy. As did the Clinton e-mail leaks and so on.
Not terribly certain here who bought what hook, line, or sinker.
The problem is, Kavanaugh will vote to overturn really important issues in our country, and I don’t think that I can handle going backwards politically! We need to start moving farther to the left if we want the US to be successful!
