I believe what the article meant was, Trump agreed to recognize Russia's annexation of Crimea, given positive results of a vote.

And if Trump didn't recognize the annexation then what? We'd go to war with Russia and give Crimea back to the Crimean's? Seems like Crimea should fight for their own land. And don't say they can't.

We have our own invasion on the southern border to deal with but NATO isn't doing a thing about it.

Seems as if you weren't aware, Crimea was part of Ukraine. Ukraine wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell in a war against Russia.

I think what is meant is
..no further punishment from USA and Trump is still working out a way to get Magninsky act overturned.

Trading "bad guys" with Putin , didn't get very far.

This is just of the tip of the iceberg with Trump. There's going to be a series of demands and threats from Putin to erode our security and bonds with Western Europe. Typical blackmailer modus operandi. The President must be in an anxiety state. Without the oligarch loans and his Russian money laundering DJT will face financial ruin. Stay tuned. The situation gets even darker and ominous now.

That Bloomberg article doesn't say anything that the OP has posted.

But the Crimea is now part of Russia. It's Obama's fault and now the people there have voted to go to Russia.

It's a done deal.

Only thing left is another false controversy created by the MSM and the MSM addicted Trump haters to parrot it as they have here.

Except for both us, and the guy who stole the car both signed agreements saying we would not do that. In exchange the car owner gave the other guy all of his nuclear weapon.....errr...automatic weapons.

But critically we did not say we would do anything about it if the other guy stole his car. Just that we wouldn't. The other guy signed the same thing, but did it anyways. Now we're no longer letting our kids sell thin mints to the guy who stole the car. Because while we didn't agree to help the guy who lost his car, we're pretty annoyed because now people wont want to lose their automatic weapons anymore. And we don't want our kids getting shot. This jerk has made the neighborhood less safe. So no thin mints. Not for a long time.

Boy its hard running this as a analogy, but its equally true if we spell it out.
