Landowners along the border are receiving their letters from the Trump administration with over 200 requests in just two counties in Texas to survey their land for "infrastructure such as a border wall".
"One Roma resident, 81-year-old Felix Rodriguez, said a government employee offered him $300 for part of his 500-square-foot property."
Wasnt this the reason the border wall was stopped under Obama? He started to build the wall but lawsuits from landowners and conservation groups stopped the progress.

The majority of land along the border is privately- owned.

The Secure Fen e Act of 2006 contemplated nearly 650 miles of fencing. While Congress approved it, it did not initially fund it. There were endless delays associated with court actions/ eminent domain.
It was completed in 2009.
