Despite, the 5th largest economy new number from the BEA show that at purchasing-power parity that California ranks 24th per-capita at about $44,000

https://www.bea.gov/iTable/drilldown...ill=1&nRange=5

Even though they brag about 5th largest economy, when adjusted to the per-capita income they 24th.

The 10 richest states per-capita when adjusted to purchasing power and cost of living

Connecticut $57,000
North Dakota $54,213
Massachusetts $53,000
Wyoming $51,000
Nebraska $50,000
South Dakota $49,000
New Jersey $48,000
Minnesota $47,000
Maryland $47,000
New Hampshire $47,000

Of course there are intangible benefits also with many of these states. The working-class can live in a beautiful, high amenity neighborhood without the worthless hustle and bustle and bad traffic where cars are burning though gas which is more than a dollar more a gallon.

Dakotas are doing very well along with Wyoming and Nebraska. Great states.

California would probably be in last place if you exclude millionaires.

Yes, that is right. California has lots and lots of millionaires with a tiny middle-class that mainly works for government subsidized or government jobs and then lots and the highest poverty when cost of living is adjusted to poverty.

https://www.ocregister.com/2017/09/2...on-in-poverty/

Los Angeles ranks lower than Topeka, KS when per-capita income is adjusted to low cost of living.

Tulsa, OK is at $50,000 purchasing power capita, compared to $44,000 in Los Angeles

Omaha, Nebraska is at $52,000 purchasing power capita, compared to $43,000 in San Diego

Casper, Wyoming at $64,000 purchasing power parity real income capita compared to $61,000 in San Francisco.

Learn to ski instead of getting over the skis and into the weeds.

Right in the middle, sandwiched between Vermont, Ohio, Tennessee and Oklahoma. I await lovecrowds' next thread telling everyone that Ohio, Tennessee and Oklahoma are horribly expensive places to live.

Maryland has a lot of government workers. All that list tells me is if you want more bang for your buck, freeze your backside off.
Quit wasting peoples time posting this garbage.

Wow, my home state is only 3K less than Cali. Yet my home valued at about 325K would be million plus in the other state. 'Course, we're all rubes. Who'd want to live around a bunch of rubes, right?

But most conservatives hate Nebraska because the minimum wage there is $9 an hour, rather than $7.25.
