Maybe Zika is yet another attempt by nature to moderate the out-of-control population.

Nature doesn't care what we do. Nature doesn't have single mind.
Viruses are weird though. They aren't technically alive. They can reproduce, but need a host cell to do so. Their officially considered biological chemical compounds. Granted, many don't agree and still consider viruses alive just highly unique in their own evolution. Either way, Zika isn't a remedy for human population. It's a way for Zika to survive. Most species are entirely self serving. Though not all and not in certain circumstance. Some species depend other species. Human need bees for honey (a great natural sweetener) and for pollination. Bees aren't the only pollinators, of course, but they are among the best because they're whole deal is making honey, which they need pollen and nectar for, and they accidentally spread it while collecting it.
I'm down for fighting zika, and some collateral damage is fine. If we accidentally killed small pox or something, I'd understand (though that obviously wouldn't happen). But killing bees does a lot more than lose some honey.
