This is what we are fighting folks... Massive ignorance and empathy for the less fortunate by the "family/ Christian values" party.

Please stop... there is nothing like the thread title stated in the article.
But much of the session wrap-up focused on the legislature’s lack of action to extend health coverage to the estimated 78,000 Idahoans who don’t have insurance because they fall in the gap between qualifying for Medicaid and Obamacare subsidies. Lawmakers this year spent a lot of time discussing various plans to address the gap but nothing ultimately passed. Otter said he was disappointed they did not go forward on closing that gap. But he said he did not totally agree with the claim some have made that Idahoans are dying because they fall in the gap.

“I see plenty of people that die every day in hospitals and they have insurance,” Otter said. “And they’re in the hospital. But they still die.”

Otter said multiple times that people without insurance have healthcare options such as the Terry Reilly clinics. He said he is not considering calling a special legislative session to address the health coverage gap.

Speaker of the House Scott Bedke said there is a “firm commitment” from the Idaho House to do something about the gap, but he said it’s an issue that will take time.
It's these types of misrepresentations from the OP that poison any relevant dialogue.

We have a legitimate two-tier public-private healthcare system where I'm from and it works rather well.

As a non-American, the American "pay for your own healthcare" argument just doesn't make sense to me at all. With that logic, you may as well suggest that everything should be privatised – where taxes are more or less abolished.

Why should healthcare be any different from other tax expenses such as education, roads or defence? I just don't get it. If you're pro-individualism with healthcare, why not be consistent and individualise every other aspect of life?

Libs are the masters of distortion.

When your message is weak and unappealing, fascist entities will turn to propaganda in order to "persuade" the people.

Liberalism = Fascism

Lightbulb Republican Governor: poor people don't need health insurance because they will die anyway

Silly poor people...

Health is for the wealthy.

Cons are masters of hypocrisy, despite claiming to favor less government and less government spending they grow government and spend like drunken sailors wherever and whenever it suits their agenda.

How is his statement misrepresented, he has a firm commitment to do something about the gap but not now? Sure sounds like his statement is that health care coverage isn't what it's cranked up to be.

So when will he do something as this has been going on for years, maybe after the 2016 election like the other governors that didn't expand Medicaid.

This goes back to 2013 by the way:
