So, show us in the Constitution where they are NOT doing their duties.

Maybe you should look up what "advise" means.

I find it ironic how some on here want to criticize the repubs for Doing EXACTLY what the dems promised to do if they had the chance.
By not holding hearings they are not doing their job, putting constitutionality aside they are not performing the duties for which they were elected.

The democrats did not refuse to hold hearings, this is new ground.

I am GLAD to see you finally admit that you support people who are either with no backbone and who do NOT follow what they say or are liars.

Don't feel bad, MOST dems feel the same way.

I love the internet lawyers/constitutional types here. Read it. The Senate does not have to do anything. And look at what the Dems have done in this same situation in the past. Biden, he pushed hard to stop it back when he was a Senator.
Some laughable hypocrites here.

"I am glad these bill have not been brought up for a vote."

You are missing a VERY IMPORTANT POINT.

Ole' harry DIDN'T EVEN GIVE THEM TO THE RESPECTIVE COMMITTEES TO LOOK AT, much less vote on them.

IF they had been put up for a vote in the committees we wouldn't be calling harry an obstructionist.

Or is it when the dems block thongs it is OK but, when the repub do it, Oh the horror?

Sounds VERY hypocritical, to me.

" if the President [George H.W. Bush] consults and cooperates with the Senate or moderates his selections absent consultation, then his nominees may enjoy my support as did Justices Kennedy and Souter."

And IF H.Bush did NOT "moderate" his selections what would the Senate do?

Again, with the dems it is "My way, or the highway".

That is not what I stated, using a statement by Biden is a pretty weak excuse for shutting down the nomination system but when you have nothing else.....

And Obama chose a moderate that O Hatch specifically said he should pick.

Obama picked their way and they are still saying no.

So you agree that it was wrong for Hillary, Kerry, Obama and Biden to filibuster Alito in 2006.... Check.

Alito had hearings, and a vote and was confirmed.
