Collins initially marked that he was not the buyer of the gun on the form, but was allowed to change that. Sounds to me that he did end up checking that he was the buyer at the end. I don't recall any bans on erasing an answer on that form and changing it, on any I've filled out.
Let me get this straight: you are supporting bad guys selling guns to bad guys.

A total of 1,880 crime guns recovered in Milwaukee were linked to Badger Guns between January 2006 and September 1 – or more than one a day, according to a Journal Sentinel analysis.
Badger Guns isn’t just the biggest seller of crime guns in Milwaukee, but among the biggest in the nation. Badger was one of the top sellers a decade ago and was No. 1 as of 2005, according to federal data. Congress has since forbidden the release of such rankings.
Wake up people! Why is the NRA supporting the sell of guns to bad guys?
Quote:
In a case study, researchers at the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research tracked the number of guns used in crimes that were purchased from Badger Guns & Ammo, a Milwaukee-area gun shop notorious for its frequent transactions with criminals. They found that the number jumped by 203 percent after Congress adopted the Tiahrt amendments, a set of measures named for their sponsor, former U.S. Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.), that reduced the pressure on retailers to keep guns out of criminals' hands.
Quote:
"Our findings suggest that changes to federal gun policy prompted a dramatic increase in the flow of guns to criminals from a gun dealer whose practices have frequently been of concern to law enforcement and public safety advocates," said lead author Daniel Webster, co-director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research.
I am. You're the one trying to disregard the fact, yes fact, the gun store was found guilty of knowingly selling to a straw purchaser after being prosecuted for such.
And, as another said, anyone who says the NRA, or other gun owners, supports selling firearms to criminals is a liar.
And I know where you're trying to go. If gun manufacturers are held liable for the end use of a legal sale then what other manufacturer will be? Autos when in an accident? Builders whose houses burn down because the owner catches the curtains on fire?
Don't bother answering, you'll either deflect, ramble or blather.
Wake up people. Anyone that says the NRA supports selling guns to bad guys is a cold blooded, deliberate liar and should be treated as such.
The NRA profits from sales of guns and they don't care if these sales are to good guys or bad guys. That is why the NRA pushed for the Tiahrt amendment.

The NRA is also a staunch supporter of the Tiahrt amendment, which has appeared in appropriations legislation for a decade. The amendment originally placed restrictions on how law enforcement could use trace data from the ATF in a way that hampered the ability of law enforcement to identify and investigate illegal firearm trafficking operations.
Quote:
The Tiahrt Amendment package also affects the ATF's ability to investigate rogue gun dealers in the form of a rider that prohibits the ATF from requiring gun dealers to perform an annual inventory of their firearms. Without an inventory requirement, it is difficult for the ATF to identify dealers who regularly engage in unlawful sales.
The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) passed by congress in 2005 and adopted by many states prevents suits against gun manufacturers or dealers but there are 6 exceptions. Two of those exceptions were used in the award to the police officers.
A very small amount of gun stores like Badger Guns account for a large majority of illegal guns and guns used in a crime, everyone should be happy with the outcome even though it took 6 years to travel through the courts.
Named for their sponsor, U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-KS), the Tiahrt Amendments are provisions that have been attached to U.S. Department of Justice appropriations bills since 2003 that significantly restrict law enforcement’s ability to investigate gun crimes and prosecute unscrupulous gun dealers. The Amendments currently:[list][*]Prohibit the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) from releasing firearm trace data for use by cities, states, researchers, litigants and members of the public;[*]Require the Federal Bureau of Investigation to destroy all approved gun purchaser records within 24 hours;
