My "Most Admired" for 2014 definitely goes to Matt Taylor.
He only landed an effin' spacecraft on an effin' comet.
(Cool shirt, too.)

His biggest accomplishment was giving free social security benefits to illegals.

How can you admire a president who got bullied by Russia and ISIS?
The question asked was open-ended. It was:

What [man/woman] that you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire most?
And who is your second choice?

The sitting POTUS has been #1 among men in this poll in 56 of the 68 years that it's been run, including 33 of the last 34 (the only exception being when Obama was #1 in 2008). If the breakdown of political affiliation given from the linked article is any indication, it should be no surprise that many of those on the same "side" as the President would consider answering the question this way (especially given how it's worded), while those not on that "side" don't necessarily have a similar figure towards which they would gravitate.

The first line in the post said: "Americans named". If they had expanded the poll globally, maybe the Pope would be named the most admired.

What kind of intelligent American "admires" politicians or celebrities?

Politicians are the lowest form of life on the planet -- how pathetic do you have to be to "admire" them?

Most Americans fail to grasp the idea that just because the MSM has given Obama a 7-year long knob job, that doesn't make him "admirable". Admittedly, Stanley Dunham's kid only captured 19% of the vote (even AFTER he lied about her death), which is laughable itself.

The poll question is worded in a way to get people to respond with public figures (see my previous post). Still, for each of the man and woman questions, 9% named a friend or relative.

LOL. Another very "progressive" reply. You only demonstrate your ignorance of Obama's failures on the world stage.

Obama is totally out of his league when dealing with Putin who has schooled him many many times. If Obama were to go head to head with Putin, i.e a community agitator and product of affirmative action vs the former head of the KGB, I know where I'd be placing my bets.

I always wonder how much of an influence on these telephone polls is the type of people that answer the phone when the caller ID shows a robo call or even after one picks up the phone and hears that it's a poll.
