I mean, once the cab driver has you in his cab, especially at night, aren't you kinda at his mercy?
There needs to be non-removable trackers inside the cabs to see exactly where the cabs travel, and to deter would be killers like Jesse Matthews.
Cab drivers I assume, need to meet certain requirements. But what about the latest Uber trend? You really have no control at all over who you are dealing with in that case.
Any cell phone would serve as a tracking device but all that does is tighten the case against the suspect AFTER someone has become a victim. What is needed in some communities is better back round checks on who can be a cab driver. In New York City and many cities around the country anyone convicted of a violent crime will not be licensed.
It will happen, whether by government or insurance company policies and practices. They are already pushing it. Most visible is Progressive with; go Flo, go.
