Great news

U.S. abortion rate hits lowest level since 1973 - NBC News.com

The abortion rate in the United States dipped to its lowest since 1973, coinciding with a steep decline in overall pregnancy and birth rates, a study from a nonprofit sexual health organization showed on Sunday.

The rate declined to 16.9 abortions per 1,000 women between the ages of 15 and 44 in 2011, the latest year studied, which was well below the 1981 peak of 29.3 per 1,000 and the lowest since 1973 when the rate was 16.3 per 1,000, the study from Guttmacher Institute showed.

Planned parenthood must be having a hissy fit.
Abortions are their bread and butter.

Why would they be having a hissy fit over people making better choices when it comes to sex and better protecting themselves to prevent pregnancy? That is actually the point of Planned Parenthood, besides many other forms of preventative healthcare.

Because like any other business, money talks. Do you think that they are hopeful that 3% of their business will dry up? Can you name me any other business on the planet that hopes that 3% of their business dries up?

Yeah, I doubt the people at Planned Parenthood are upset over this news....though I am sure all you right wingers wish they were. Also, Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization.

Non-profit does not mean "no profit." PP has a bottom line to maintain just like any other business.

I never said that, just addressing the fact that they are not a for-profit business, nor do they wish more woman would have abortions, that is only something a sick minded right winger would come up with.

Still way too many abortions, it's pretty disgusting. Abortion is NOT an acceptable form of birth control
