Russia will not get involved in a problem with Iran. It would affect their bottom line. Russia will sell to anyone for the right price the tech to build nukes. As far as backing Iran up in their warmongering, they won't. Not in their interests.

If The US could get concrete, verifiable, inspect-able changes in Iran's nuclear program...what would be the reason not to lift [some]sanctions? Is not sanctions the reason were imposed... to force closure of the enrichment program?
I agree but getting congress to approve any treaty negotiated by this administration would be difficult, that was one of the concerns of the European Union,
