However, once you have empowered government with absolute authority and control over your life and everyone else's, you will find that government is the single most destructive force in the world, and that you, or future generations, will suffer horrors so bad that you've never even dreamed of them.
You want to hand the monster the chains to bind you, thinking it will be your slave.

Well, I don't know. Afterall America survived the Federal Income Tax, SSI, Medicare and the War on Poverty. It probably will survive a Single-Payer System as well. I just don't see the possibility repealing Obamacare after it is implemented.
That's the point of Obamacare. You are the age group that benefits from it. This is all by design. Get as much young people as possible enrolled to pay for health insurance for the eldery. And if not enough young people sing up than increase the fines.

ACA is the in-between step to Single-Payer. I didn't compare ACA to a Single-Payer System. Eventually everybody will pay a health care tax which is deducted from the payroll. Obama was very clear, that his final goal is a Single-Payer System shaped after Germany's Bismarck Model. So was Clinton in the mid-90's who wanted a Single-Payer like the Germans have.
Americans also are more likely than Canadians or Germans to rate the
quality and responsiveness of health care services available in their communities as being only fair or poor.

health care system as involving too much bureaucracy. Americans are most

Obamacare was always intended to be a Single-Payer System. The final solution will be medicare for everybody. He told his union buddies that it may take 10 to 15 years to get to a single-payer system. He couldn't do it German style and just impose a 15 % health tax on employees and employers, he wouldn't have survived the first term.
Now the beneficiaries will get used to the sugar and Single-Payer is here to stay for good.
I have to give President Obama credit, he will have a significant place in the history books. He will be the President who transformed America from a Constitutional Republic into a European-Style Social Democracy.
He will be right up there with Woodrow Wilson, FDR and LBJ.
Obamacare is going to be a milestone of American Social Enginnering just like the Federal Income Tax (Wilson), SSI (FDR) and Medicare (LBJ).
We see how well that worked out for Europe.
He'll likely have the same kind of reverance in the history books as Nixon.
It makes me laugh when I read posts from people saying getting health insurance through the ACA is 'way more expensive' (thanks Obama..lol) than what they get at their place of employment. OF COURSE IT IS! It wasn't meant for people who get it through their jobs!
It pretty much costs the same.
And those who get it through their employer HAVE TO EARN IT ALL ANYWAY. So, you still work for it, it's just that someone else makes your choices for you.
Since when is government having authority new? It isn't absolute either, you are free to come on here and say (pretty much) anything you feel like saying. You can work where you want, live where you want, travel where you want, vote for whom you want, eat what you want, drink what you want, hate who you want, love whom you want, marry whom you.....forget that last one. If don't like the people that have been winning elections lately then come up with candidates that will more favor whatever your particular bent is.
It's ok. I get it. you like your gilded cage. Just stop insisting everyone else must be in one too. It pleases some people to live in tyranny, as it relieves them of the need to think or decide or plan or wish. All they have to do, is then just live empty, for-the-moment, meaningless lives.
Again, it's ok for you to want that for yourself. You, however, have NO RIGHT IN THE UNIVERSE, to force such tyranny on me.
