I just love how the spenders want to increase debt. What happens when no one will loan you a dime anymore? I know my x was ticked off bad when she found her magic check book wasn't working ANYMORE.

Do you spenders really think 1, you can just continue to spend? and 2 that when you can't anyone else will care?

PAY UP

As to blame i already blame the left the PC Bill and Hillary and Obama.

Default who will get the blame when we do not raise the debt ceiling?

House Republicans, who will reap the rewards of their actions next year.

I blame the ones who caused us to ever have to raise the debt ceiling in the first place. The ones who spend with absolutely no regard.
I blame both the Democrats and the Republicans. I blame the hardliners who continue to give their own party a free pass.

Redistricting makes wholesale changes impossible. The Tea Party-affiliated radicals on the GOP side of the U.S. House are in safe districts. Their constituents, their supporters, want them to be more anarchistic ... not less. The Speaker of the U.S. House lacks leadership skills sufficient to deal with this relatively small, but vocal group of House members. That's what's gotten us into the situation we find ourselves. The impact of all of this will be felt during the next Presidential elections. I don't see a way for the GOP to effectively campaign for that office. There will be a Democratic President for a long time to come. I think the GOP will end-up, next election or soon thereafter, with control of both the Senate and the House, and, if so, we're in for a decade or more of chaos. Its not a pretty picture of the future, I'm disappointed to say.

As others have said, just don't default. At minimum, pay the interest and then rest is spent on other programs as called for in the Constitution. If there is anything left over, we can see about those unconstitutional programs and maybe wind them down.

The people who want the debt ceiling raised were looting the Walmarts this weekend.

The media will paint anybody proposing cuts as evil and the low information voters will eat it up.
