How we got to this point: Exhibit A.

Since you're so smart do you want to tell us what stopped Adam Lanza from shooting up a school, or the nutjob that shot up the movie theatre in Colorado? Hint: It wasn't the sign that said "gun-free zone." You can make all of the signs you want, and those who are truly twisted, have no regard for the lives of others are not going to give a s***! If they did have regard for the lives of others as well as their own, they wouldn't have committed a heinous act now would they?!

Many schools have armed security outside schools, I don't think anyone is proposing actually putting armed guards inside schools. There are some schools that allow armed teachers or administrators inside schools but that is extremely rare. The 3 states that approved arming teachers but it doesn't appear that will happen to any degree, at least there are some sane people out there.

They should be more concerned with drugs getting into schools, pretty much a huge problem everywhere.

Drugs and gangs. Those are the two huge problems in schools today.
I worked in a school where the doors were removed from the bathrooms and a para sat outside and only let one student in at a time.
When the bell rang 2 resource officers stood in the center of the hallway. All the teachers also had to stand in the center of the hallway and the kids walked along the walls with each wall being one way only.
And none could go to the bathroom in between classes. All lockers were removed from the school.

And this wasn't even one of your "bad schools".

Yes we have some schools in the same category, even relatively wealthy school districts are prone to drugs and many have dogs to detect drugs in lockers. This is happening every day, this is where they should put the federal money for enforcement rather than hiring security guards for the once in a lifetime situation.

Oh it's worse there. They not only have the high price designer drugs and cocaine but they all have cars as well.

Having said that would you agree that the government shouldn't interfere with the firearms rights of law abiding citizens to try and prevent that once in a lifetime situation?

The government shouldn't be providing federal funding to school districts that choose to take this path, if a district wants to put armed guards inside and around schools that is their choice, don't agree with it but their choice. Drugs and violence in schools is a much larger larger issue.

That's nice but maybe you could post again and actually try answering the question.
