Not for what they got the medicaid for. They got it for overcharging and doing unnecessary procedures.
I think the point of the poster was that you have the word abortion in the title of this thread. If it wasn't about abortion then why would it be it the title?

It probably IS about abortion but PP won't admit they use tax payer (medicaid) money to do abortions.
Instead of the hyper overblown BS twist from a known anti-abortion site, its best to get the NEWS from a REAL news site, of course, ABORTION wasn't even the issue: it was for medication, medical procedures that were overcharged or never given, or couldn't be covered under medicaid.
Let me pay you 1.4 million for you to stop making claims like that. Kinda like what PP did. This is lawsuit settlement, not fines.
If Greg Abbott had evidence that that PP defrauded texas medicaid, he would have filed suit.
Didn't read the story did you?
Quote: "State investigators determined that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast falsified information in patients’ medical records to recieve unwarranted reimbursement from the Medicaid program."
Sounds like fraud to me, not "oops, I forgot to carry the decimal."
"The State’s investigation revealed that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast improperly billed the Texas Medicaid program for products and services that were never actually rendered, not medically necessary, and were not covered by the Medicaid program – and were therefore not eligible for reimbursement.
explain how it worked in this case... did abbott have evience that PP committed fraud of texas medicaid? If so why the settlement?
everybody understands the use of a plea bargin in criminal law.
If everyone understands the use of plea barganing, why are you asking how it works?
