Let me guess, Obama promised billions in US taxpayer funded windmills and solar panels, eh? Just more corporate cronyism disguised as nation building.
Well they are promising anybody who wants to go invest in the dump known as africa will be repayed in taxpayer money if their investment fails. So yes some solar panels and windmills will surely be in the works I'm sure. They ran this scam once in the US may as well take it overseas now especially when the taxpayers are the ones who will be on the hook yet again.
What we are really doing is funding the infrastructure buildout of the next "emerging nation" to mfg cheap goods.
Africa is a huge source of raw resources.
Well China is so far ahead of us it's a waste of time. Let em have it. WE have the middle east and the ruskies have the "stans". Sounds like a fair deal.
It appears this is one of the ways that we will be paying to generate electricity in Africa............
"POTUS will cite on Tuesday two women from Harvard who invented what's called the "socket ball" -- it's a soccer ball that has a small electric generator inside a soccer ball. As kids kick it around all day, it generates electricity and stores it in a battery. Mr. Froman said that he and Mr. Rhodes tested out the "socket ball" and that it will be demonstrated Tuesday (though it's not clear that POTUS will kick the ball around or not.)"
I hope Obama took this into account before coming up with this $7 billion idea.

Corruption affects Ghana’s progress. Money meant for roads, food, security, health, housing, education, and other socio-economic infrastructure are stolen.
Even if the USA gives money to Africa, it is still really China giving them money . . . cause all our money is the result of a big ole IOU to China.
Seems kind of crazy, when you think about it. We borrow money from other governments so then we can say we contributed to Africa, but really . . . all we did was just run up the USA's tab to China and Dubai, lol.
There is no logic to this Administration's free-wheeling financial style.
Here's a check for $7 Billion - be sure to write the thank you note to China, lol.
The President is making up for what he didn't do in his first term compared to what his two predecessors did for Africa in their administrations.
An African-American president ignoring Africa is not good legacy.
I think the best thing Obama could do for Africa is to align himself with Africans who have been pushing for better democratic and economic reforms on the continent.
In other words develop a relationship with Africans who think like this person:

Others say that the vast earnings made by many African countries from oil, gas and mining show that the focus on aid to Africa is misguided. "We should be doing a lot more to get Africa to develop itself," said Ariyo. "Take the case of my country, Nigeria. It benefited from debt relief and has huge oil resources, but Nigeria is in more debt now than it was in 2005, and that is because of corruption."
Apparently Obama is not very good when it comes to tossing money around to the right people. He gave aid to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt...Today protesters over ran and are looting the Muslim Brotherhood offices. Looks like some of that cash is now a stolen air conditioning unit being installed in the home of a rioter...Great work- Give the Muslim Brotherhood money and instantly the Brotherhood enters the process of being run out of town by the people.
