And what happens if the "black box" fails? With all rocket scientists who want to "think" and don't want to get their hands dirty, who will fix your black box? There will ALWAYS be a place for those who actually work rather than sit on their ass, look at a computer screen all day, and get fat.

Next time your car blows a head gasket, go ahead and see if you can fix it without getting your hands dirty (or having someone else get their's dirty)... just by "thinking" it through. Or, try thinking a house together. Or think your home heater better. Or think your broken water main out front back together. Think your downed power line back together. Think your burning house better. Think the rapist in your living room away. Or mow your lawn by thinking about it. For that matter, next time you want to wipe your butt, just think it clean and see how you smell a couple of hours later.

People like those "dumb," college-less mechanics are laughing all the way to the bank with your money. They can charge whatever they like when they are the only game in a town full of rocket scientists who "think" really well... but can't really DO much of anything.

Of course they ignore the BLS stats showing a $300 weekly median wage gap b/w the college grad and the high school grad.

What happens when a machine takes your job.

I know I certainly do, because I've never given a damn about money... and I have two college degrees. What the hell good is $300 extra per week when you don't need it and you don't buy playtoys?

Ever notice how even a machine needs to be maintained and repaired? That's where a technician, rather than a theoretical physicist comes in handy.

You're constructing a society where illegal immigrants do the work that keeps the nation functioning and everyone else sits on their duff collecting unemployment because NASA has a glut of astrophysicists.

I love to travel, spend quite a bit doing it, enjoy it immensely, so a very good income was required for me to do the things I enjoy.

I also wanted to do work I found stimulating. I like autonomy, and I have it.

You never took the time to think that machines will repair themselves. Yeah nanotechnology

We have tons of robots at our subsidiaries across the US, as well as overseas. They require maintenance, by people, but get real..they displaced dozens of FTEs per maintenance FTE required to service them.
