Will the southern bashing never end.
California is a state, not a 'region'. Yet more proof of that lack of education.

Sure snarky

You get my point; CA really by sheer size and population could be a region.
LA metro area is the size of the whole state of South Carolina.

FYI, the term California was originally a name given for the REGION claimed by Spain that included much of the modern-day Southwestern United States and the Baja California peninsula.

I guess they should have just ignored the big piece of metal he was towing, why would anyone recognize a replica of something so remote in history. Never heard of this guy before, one of the best kept secrets and for a good reason.

I wouldn't criticize education in NYC schools compared to some other places. Bloomberg happens to be one of the best mayors NYC has had, maybe you don't like him but try to be a little objective.

Well, if you like him, you can have him. And his whining, carrying on and nannyism. I realize New Yorkers like to be told what to do from cradle to grave, and enjoy a politician looking out for them.

As to confusing the replica to a torpedo...are people in NYC really that weak-minded? The CSS Hunley is historically significant as the first submarine used (semi) successfully in an attack. IIRC, it sunk it's target, which it hit with a "bomb" attached to the end of a long pole attached to the bow of the boat. IIRC the Hunley was swamped by the resulting wave and lost in the attack.

Did you know that it was (at least) the second submarine attack in American waters...the first being about 90 years earlier?
