There could be valid reasons to target groups "political action type organizations involved in limiting/expanding government, educating on the constitution and bill of rights, social economic reform/movement" source: IRS kept shifting targets in tax-exempt groups scrutiny: report

So I'll just sit back and wait for actual information instead of political inspired bickering.
Don't hold your breath waiting on an answer because that would be self incrimination from the IRS.

No, I am saying a low level employee at the IRS was being lazy and figured it would be easy to audit the tea party group because they all use the same name. And besides that, during the eight years of Bush, I am sure liberal groups were audited and do you know who thought that was news worthy at the time? No one.

Since these groups are likely to get wealthy donors and have sharp political leanings, I see nothing wrong with monitoring them more heavily than the average group. If they have nothing to scrutinize there will be nothing found.
Really ? The Left have no groups like these with "wealthy donors" ?

And what about targeting Jewish groups ?

Keep up with the news.

#1 It is not that conservative groups were audited by random chance. It is that groups were audited specifically for disagreeing with government policies. If you can't tell the difference, then you either have a low IQ or are lying to cover for your party.

#2 The Treasury Report is saying that the IRS is lying. That it was not orchestrated by low level employees, but higher ranking IRS officials. The IRS had already previously lied when questioned if they targeted conservative groups.

#3 You have no proof that the IRS under Bush targeted groups for being liberal, so your example is moot and completely irrelevant.

They went after the patriots and jewish groups as well. We throw the term "fascists" and "nazis" around when describing liberals but these actions may make it justified.

So you guys are only upset that the tea party was audited? Typical. I am sure who ever was involved in this will be fired and you Cons will be told what to freak out about next by you "news" sources.

This had nothing to do with being audited.

The IRS used as a political tool is consistent with the Obama administration's past atrocities.

When candidate Obama was running his handlers threatened to sue anyone who told lies about Obama... read that as disagreed with what obama said. When word got out the socialist handlers ran for cover.

Before Obamacare was approved he set us a website where people could send in the names and usernames of people opposed to obamacare. When word got out, his socialist handlers ran for cover.

Take the hints and impeach this guy or make him a lame duck ASAP.

Simply amazing. For the sake of the Dem's they better hope this was a hacked account.

Shorter @davidplouffe: The IRS was wrong for targeting Tea Party groups. But, someone had to stop them from raising so much money.

So it was wrong but they simply had to do it? Just amazing. Just when you think politicians can't sink any lower they do.

Well, they were ‘flourishing’: David Plouffe excuses IRS targeting of conservative groups | Twitchy

This guy was the presidents senior adviser at the time.
