No, everyone does NOT know that the democrats turned out the best candidate ever. But most people do know that the other choice was far worse. I'm a conservative, but I could not force myself to vote for Mittens. His and Ryan's myopic plans for the economy scared the crap out of me. Some conservatives who couldn't vote for Romney switched sides and voted for Obama. Others (like me) found a third-party candidate they liked and voted "outside the box". Many conservatives simply stayed home.

No incumbent US president has ever won an election with such high unemployment rates, slow economic growth, and low approval ratings as existed last year; and yes, I include Obama with that stat. I've said this before and I'll say it again: Obama/Biden didn't win the election, Romney/Ryan lost it.

I'll expand on lycos's statement: If republicans can't come up with a way to get a decent, intelligent, logical, and electable candidate through their ultra-conservative ultra-asinine primary system, they will continue to lose national elections.

I don't think it's a trend at all. It's a statement about what a poor-ass of a candidate the GOP put up this time. Romney just didn't inspire enough people to vote for him. Plain and simple.

It does not matter a hill of beans if the trend continues or not. Your vote no longer matters. Anyone who believes this country is still a democracy is living in a fantasy world.
The country belongs to the oligarchs and the people are just peasants. Voting is just a feel good scam to allow people to still believe they have some voice in their own self-determination, when in fact they have no voice whatsoever. Voting is simply a waste of time and an exercise in fantasy.

The figures quoted in this thread disprove your statement. Getting the vote out works.

Massive voter fraud. African american support for Obama was actually down although there was urban fraud which netted significant numbers for Obama. But while support for Obama was down across the board, particularly among young voters, his rival Romeny did have an energized base that did want to see Obama removed from office. That support mysteriously vanished just on the eve of the election and we saw a few percentage point swing in nearly every key swing state. How many votes did they switch and give Obama? 5 million? Possibly closer to 10 million?
Thats disenfranchisement of everybody, folks. Thats depriving everyone of their civil rights. But it does make Voter iD sound awfully silly since who you vote for will be determined for you when they decide the tallies.

2 things

1. Joe biden didnt say white people did he,nope he said republicans and it wasnt in front of the NAACP

2. Does this now mean you will condemn every post by a republican that mentions "democratic plantations" or are you going to pull the " i agree with there opinion of Democrats" argument, which would then bring up a difference of a opinion situation on the Biden comment.

No, the figures do NOT disprove the idea that it doesn't matter which party wins, the PEOPLE lose.
