Bascially it more a case of dippig inot the well once too often in pushing more leglislation based on a crisis .Poeple bascially have come to conclusion that new gun restrcitions have not worked to solve the real problem. One only has to look at pastwith same miltiary surplus avialble from government to mial oder to see its not the guns but a violent society problem. In time in is likely leading to look at the persons who do this violence and their criminal and mental records for a clue what needs to be done to stop them.Time and time again we see these violent acts having actors with long record of other violent acts and threats of violence. The legislation failed because people are not wililng to giveup protection based on what they have observed. The gun sales alone show that.

What has that got to do with it. You said the AR15 was not used there. It was and as an assault weapon, which is why it should be regulated now. Making an absurd assertion that it is not an assault weapon will get you nowhere with people that know different.

Your AW ban died a quick and painful death as expected.

The M16 is a full auto weapon, the AR15 is not. So you obviously don't know the difference. And the AR15 is already regulated by all the mindless laws passed by and equally mindless Congress that never have been enforced.

You can read this and learn an assault rifle is fully automatic. An AR15 is semi automatic; therefore, an ar15 is not an assault rifle. Unless you believe any weapon used in Vietnam is an assault rifle then you would want the Remington 700 banned.

I don't recall calling it anything other than an assault weapon. In Nam, as far as I know, it was used as an assault weapon. What's your point?
